Make sure you check out X13’s Wireless E-Saximeter component displayed at the 2:00 minute mark in the video. The E-Saximeter allows for calculation of a hammer’s operating rate in blows per minute and helps the piling inspector create a pile driving log. The X13 is the first installment in a series of Hydraulic Impact Hammers (HIH) designed for applications where a preload to a pile is necessary. Preload on a concrete pile, originally only available with Diesel Impact Hammers, allows for a reduction in the amount of stress that the pile receives during the piledriving process that is common with free fall, assisted and accelerated Hydraulic Impact Hammers without a preload feature. In turn, fewer piles are stressed beyond damage during driving. In Water, this application of preload also lowers the pressure wave created at impact saving fish.
