Impact Wrench Prices
When you are comparing impact wrench prices, remember to compare apples to apples. Today there are more options than ever in sizes, features as well as a power source. You can’t compare a small air compression powered impact wrench with a full-featured, full-powered battery operated impact wrench.
We are all familiar with the sound of a high pitched whining sound coming from the tire bay at our local repair shop. That is the most common use for an impact wrench: tightening and loosening lug nuts when changing tires.
Those types of impact wrenches run off a compressed air unit, that is why they sound the way they do. You might think that this is the only option for a professional – air compression operated.
The truth is, that is no longer the case. Today there are many full-featured and full-powered impact wrenches that run off battery power. The impact wrench prices of these cordless wrenches will often be higher but it might just be worth it.
There are several factors you must take into consideration when trying to determine if the convenience and portability of a cordless impact wrench is worth it for you.
Impact Wrench Prices
Consider these points before buying:
1. Of course, your budget will be a big determining factor as to what type of impact wrench you can get. Even if you really need a more powerful model, if you can’t afford it right now, you can’t afford it.
2. Do you already have an air compression unit? If so, then you don’t need to factor in that expense in addition to the cost of the wrench.
If you don’t have one, factor in how much getting one (make sure you know what size air compression unit you will need too. You need something big enough to supply all the compressed air you will need to get the job done) will cost you.
Depending on whether or not you have an air compression unit, you may be able to get a full-featured and full-powered impact wrench for around $200 or so.
3. Where will you use your impact wrench primarily? If you just change your tires once in a while and you won’t use it a lot, you may not need the most powerful full-featured unit you can find.
If you want an impact wrench to put in the trunk of your car for emergencies, then you obviously will need a cordless one that can be operated right from your cigarette lighter.
One that is operated from rechargeable batteries won’t really help that much sense unless you remember to recharge the batteries as needed, your wrench will be out of juice when you have a flat.
Once you know what you want and need, you can go online to start narrowing down your choices. It’s about more than just money, it’s also about the features you will get.
Some people prefer a certain brand of tool, too. All of that will factor into the impact wrench prices you will pay
